Product Innovation using Lego Serious Play

Why?

In this workshop, we harness LEGO® Serious Play® methodology and follow Design Thinking stages so participants are energized, creative and insightful.  Design Thinking offers a series of stages to help non-designers apply learning and insights to foster innovation.  The 3D modelling with LEGO means every word is seen, heard and touchable. Our ideas become more visual and concrete!

What?

The workshop format involves sprinting through the 5 stages of Design Thinking (Empathy, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test) with hands-on building activities at each stage. We visualize a model of the problem that participants are trying to solve, create 3D personas of our users and map their journey spatially and prototype with LEGO bricks. There will be individual activities and working small groups in break-out rooms along with full group facilitated activities and discussion. This methodology offers a new way to approach and frame problems and solutions.

How To Be An Ally?

Why?

Using the LEGO® Serious Play® methodology we will explore how to act as an ally in a range of work-related scenarios. The #MeToo and Black Lives Matter movements, as well inequalities highlighted by Covid-19 pandemic have highlighted inequalities in our society and our workplaces. However, rather than be overwhelmed – how can we step up and be part of the solution? During this highly participatory workshop, we’ll get hands-on with LEGO® Bricks and explore different situations and reflect on the impact of our action or inaction on others.  The workshop incorporates some of the methodology and materials of the Ada Initiative’s ally model.

In this very engaging workshop format participants get hands-on using LEGO bricks to build models that respond to different scenarios.  There will individual activities and working small groups in break-out rooms along with full group facilitated activities and discussion. This approach opens up really interesting insights, conversations and reflections.
